The Working Lunch session on social media, on February 18th, was very popular and we learned a lot about Instagram and how it can benefit freelance translators and interpreters.Personally I use Twitter for work, mostly to network and showcase my specialism, and of course to support the NWTN and the ITI. Facebook is more personal. My Instagram account is barely active, but I intend to do better.I will soon post a blog article about LinkedIn, as I have recently attended a webinar on how to make the best of the website and enhance your profile.
It would be interesting to know how others do, and this topic is open to questions as well as advice drawn from your experience.
Looking forward to see your posts!
I thought it might be useful for those that were interested in last week’s social media session to list a few of the main accounts that I find useful on Instagram.
Marketingtipsfortranslators

Virginia. Katsimpiri
The.organizedtranslator
Marketingforxl8
Xl8mentoring

wwwforxl8 (this is a company who create websites specifically for translators – good for some of the questions we had today about websites. Even if you don’t book them, they are good to follow for ideas for your own websites)
Also some of the main translation hashtags across social media:
#xl8 (translator)
#T9n (translation)
#l10n (localisation)
#il8n (Interpreting)
#g11n (globalisation)
Hope that’s helpful for those who were interested.
Best wishes
