I work as a Senior Editor for Latin America and the Caribbean for Economist Intelligence, which is the business-to-business side of The Economist Group. I then use the subject-specific knowledge I have acquired (economics/politics/social sciences), along with well-developed proofreading skills, in my freelance translation work.
I have been working as a freelance translator for a few years now, both for direct clients and for an agency. My agency work mainly consists of marketing texts and internal communications texts for businesses working across various industries. In terms of direct clients, recent projects have included sleeve notes for a chamber music CD, a synopsis and proposal for a book on economics for a prominent German media figure, and consultancy work on German and Spanish novels.
I am confident in using CAT tools (Trados and MemoQ).
