NWTN/WMG Joint Walk
31 July @ 11:00 am – 4:00 pm

A joint walk is a great way for two ITI regional groups to get to know their neighbours and on 31 July, NWTN and WMG will be doing a walk (distance approx. 6½ miles) in the Staffordshire Moorlands, around Biddulph (approx. 40 miles from Manchester and 55 miles from Birmingham via the M6). Hopefully we’ll be celebrating the end of lockdown restrictions!
The route
The route is undulating rather than hilly, and we’ll be stopping one third of the way round for a picnic at Knypersley Reservoir. The final mile or so is along a disused railway.
Essentials
Please bring a packed lunch, suitable footwear and come prepared for whatever the weather has in store for us (if the forecast is torrential rain, this event may be cancelled the night before).
Meeting point
The starting point is Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre, Thames Drive, Biddulph ST8 7HL, which has kindly allowed us to use their car park. They have toilets and sell cold drinks. We’ll meet there at 10.45 for an 11am start. Anyone arriving early and wanting something to eat can head to Sainsburys in Biddulph, 2 minutes drive away, which has a cafe.
Numbers & booking
We are restricting numbers to 30 participants (including children) in accordance with current Covid rules, but if these are lifted on 19 July and these 30 places have already been taken up, we may increase the numbers. Please book your places on Eventbrite here:
NWTN and WMG will each be assigned 15 places (14 excluding their organiser) and each member can book up to 2 tickets. Dogs welcome. Once the tickets are sold out, a waiting list for each group will come into operation.
We hope you will be able to join us and take this opportunity to meet some new colleagues.
