Working Lunch: Interpreting in the Medical Sector
6 April, 2022 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Join NWTN Academic Liaison Officer Katell Sevellec and colleagues for an informal chat online via Zoom. For one hour during your lunch break, we’ll host a Q&A session that includes discussion regarding tips for productivity, business progression, social media, upcoming CPD events, etc.
Family members often take on the role of interpreters in medical emergencies or times of need. This can lead to dangerous mistakes and inaccuracies. In spite of this, there seems to be a lack of awareness of the role of medical interpreters. Do you sometimes have to explain the importance of your job? How do you deal with issues arising from a lack of professional recognition in the medical sector? Do you have any suggestions to help raise awareness?
