I’m a newly qualified freelancer trying to get started with full-time translation after doing occasional translation jobs alongside university and working in hospitality. I have so far struggled ploughing a lone furrow and fruitlessly applying to agencies, so my translator friend from south Wales suggested looking for a local group of translators to get re-motivated and remind myself that other real-life people do this job, after a pandemic year spent largely hiding indoors not interacting with anyone.
