Hi, I’m Marjolein and I’m an award-winning translator, editor, proofreader, copywriter, and now Carbon Literacy trainer for the sports sector!
The first thing you need to know about me is that the environment is really important to me. I want it to stay the way it is today (as a minimum!), rather than getting any warmer and changing irrevocably.
That’s why with my business, I try to do my bit to be sustainable, green, and ethical too.
WHO DO I WORK WITH?
Sports and sustainability companies around the world. My job is to make sure they’re getting their message across in the most efficient way possible. I help them create impact reports, press releases, website content and social media posts.
All the content I create is in English and I translate from Dutch, German and Russian into English, but I also collaborate with other linguists to offer different language combinations, too.
WHY SPORTS & SUSTAINABILITY?
Well, sustainability because I want to be able to look my children in the eye when they grow up and tell them that I did my bit to preserve our environment. I want to keep enjoying the biodiversity we have today and I want to keep our world as safe a world as possible for all its inhabitants.
And sports? I’m a fanatic swimmer (both in the pool and in open water), runner, cyclist, climber… well, you get the picture! Too many times I’ve seen poor translations of sports products created by people who clearly had little clue what they were talking about. It’s time to rectify that!
