Audio Books – French Crime Fiction

I spend a lot of time driving to interpreting assignments so I have got used to listening to French audio books during my journeys. A 3 hour round trip to Leeds was made more interesting recently by listening to “L’Accusé” by John Grisham, courtesy of Audible.fr. It’s the story of a man’s time spent on Death Row for 12 years due to a false accusation. An insight into the US legal system and judicial errors! Ties in a little with a series I watched in French on Netflix during lockdown. I was stuck in France for a while and we weren’t allowed out without government “passes” for more than one hour! “The Good Wife” was all about a law firm and their different fictional cases. “Homeland” in French was also useful. Crime and the CIA is always interesting. They are dubbed so well you stop seeing the mouth shapes are out of sync with the language. 🙂

Chromecast has become a great addition to TNT sat French television!

However reading a book is still essential to aid with written French! My next one will be “Souvenirs d’un médecin légiste” by Raymond Martin – perhaps not at bedtime! 🙂
